How long have you been working with oggo?
It all began in 2017 on the initiative of a student’s mom, which led to an initial meeting via Geneva’s Apple Store. This is how we have been working with oggo since the end of 2017.
We felt the need to equip the school with an IT system that could keep up with its significant growth: from 40 students and a surface area of 300 m² in 2004 when it opened, Mosaic School has indeed expanded to have some 250 students in more than 2000 m² of premises today.
Since we didn’t have a clear vision or a precise idea of what we needed, oggo’s consulting and strategic advice were decisive in our choice of suitable equipment, which was set up in collaboration with the Electricité Nord-Sud provider.
Our priority was the installation of Wi-Fi access points, as well as the provision and commissioning of iPads for students and teachers. However, with oggo’s help, we have gone well beyond this stage. The integration of Macs for the administration was crucial for the school’s development. This was followed by the installation of a Mac mini server, to oversee the fleet of Apple products from one place, and Mac minis for the management and diffusion of OnSign TV content on TV screens.
Are the proposed solutions in line with your requests?
A proactive approach has enabled us to clear up the issues related to the Wi-Fi. All the solutions proposed by oggo are also the result of a long-term consideration in order to anticipate our computing needs.
The start of the project with oggo was marked by some delays, in particular, in terms of financing the establishment of our computer infrastructure. We have, therefore, prioritized an internal relationship to establish a bridge with oggo and promote better communication. This process has resulted in greater responsiveness and better technical monitoring in the operational side of things.
Are you satisfied with the servers that have been set up?
We have had a Mac mini server, several Mac minis and two Synology systems installed, one for production and one as a clone. Even though we encountered some difficulties at the beginning, our dedicated server is now perfectly configured, following the creation of a solid and sound base.
How useful do you find the MDM solution that has been set up?
The MDM solution has been beneficial to us for the mass deployment of our computer infrastructure. Thanks to this solution, we have been able to develop protocols that are completely suited to our school environment. Similarly, Apple TVs in classes that are “managed” by the Mac mini server have provided us with a formula that is completely suited to our expectations.
Have you been satisfied with oggo’s services?
We have been very satisfied with all of oggo’s services. The company stands out as a result of its speed, reliability, and availability. The team managed to highlight aspects of the project that we were not mastering. As a result, oggo has been an important player in the development of Mosaic School.
Our needs have grown over time with the use of an internal database for the management of an educational portal for teachers. This new evolution has resulted in us creating a completely dedicated internal position. Thanks to the iPads that have been introduced, we are benefitting from a more interactive approach in terms of the school’s management and organization. In this regard, we have an in-house trainer who supports our teachers in mastering this new technology.
We are very happy with oggo’s services and are planning to continue our collaboration in the long term. This is also because, among other things, we would like to distribute 250 iPads at our school in due course.
