A studio piles up faster than it files away. Every project photographed leaves raw files, retouched versions and client deliveries — three states of the same image, often on three different drives.
Architectural photography produces files that office software has never met. The real risk is not a breakdown: it is the day you go looking for last year's image and cannot find it.
Storage moved to two Synology servers: the second is a clone of the first, ready to take over if it stops. The images no longer live on the workstations, they live in one place. The network is Ubiquiti, sized so that several workstations can pull heavy files at the same time without the last one waiting.
Storage is sized for real production, and the backup is tested — a backup you have never restored is not a backup.
